You are asked here for things people do not casually share — your photograph, your birth time, sometimes your health. This explains exactly what happens to all of it.

1.What we collect

Only what the service needs, and only what you give us:

  • Your email address, which is how you sign in — there is no password to store
  • Your profile: name, initiated name, age, gender, height, marital status, mother tongue, city, state and country, education and work, and what you write about yourself
  • Your spiritual life: sampradaya, initiation status, guru, rounds chanted, years of practice, temple, and the vows you observe
  • Photographs, and a short video introduction if you record one
  • Birth date, time and place, if you choose to give them for Ashtakoot Guna Milan or a Jyotish consultation
  • Contact details — phone, WhatsApp, email — for release only to devotees you have accepted
  • Health, medication and financial-standing notes, if you choose to write them
  • Payment records: what you bought, when, how much, and the invoice — but never your card details, which go straight to Razorpay and never reach us

2.Sensitive information, handled separately

Health and financial information is treated as sensitive under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we hold it accordingly. It lives in its own table, apart from your profile, and it is never included in browsing, searching or matching.

It is not released when two devotees accept each other. It is released only when you personally grant one named devotee permission to see it, and you can withdraw that permission at any time. Nobody can grant themselves access to yours.

You do not have to provide any of it. Leaving it blank costs you nothing on this platform.

3.Who can see what

Not signed in: nothing. No profile, no photograph, no detail of any devotee is visible to the public or to search engines.

A verified member with access: your profile as you have written it, and any photograph you marked visible to signed-in devotees.

A devotee you have accepted: additionally your contact details, and photographs you kept back for that moment.

A devotee you granted a disclosure to: additionally the health or financial notes you chose to share with them.

Our reviewers: your profile and verification evidence, so that a person can check it before it goes live.

These boundaries are enforced by the database itself, not by the design of the pages. We test them against the live system after every change to the schema.

4.Why we hold it

To let you create a profile and be introduced to other devotees; to verify profiles by hand so the community stays what it claims to be; to calculate Ashtakoot compatibility and deliver Jyotish consultations you book; to take payment and issue the tax invoices Indian law requires; and to write to you about your account.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build advertising profiles from it.

5.Messages you will and will not get

Some emails are part of the service and always send: your sign-in link, the outcome of verification, notice that someone has expressed interest, and payment receipts.

Anything promotional — match suggestions, offers — is sent only if you tick the box for it. That consent is recorded with the date and time you gave it, and clearing the box removes both the permission and the record of it.

Promotional messages by SMS or WhatsApp are a separate matter under Indian telecom regulation and are not sent at all today.

6.Who else touches your data

A small number of service providers, each doing one job:

  • Supabase — the database, sign-in and file storage that hold everything
  • Vercel — the hosting that serves the site
  • Resend — the service that delivers our email
  • Razorpay — payments; they take your card details directly, and we never see them

Each holds your data only to provide its service to us. Some process data outside India, which is permitted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 subject to the restrictions the Government may notify.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it — a court order, or a lawful demand from an authority.

7.Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:

  • Ask what we hold about you, and why
  • Correct anything wrong — most of it you can edit yourself, at any time
  • Delete your profile, which you can do yourself from your profile page
  • Withdraw a consent you gave, including any disclosure you granted to another devotee
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated
  • Complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if we have not put it right

Write to the Grievance Officer below and we will respond. There is no charge for any of this.

8.How long we keep it

Your profile and its contents, for as long as your account exists. Delete the account and they go with it, including photographs and video.

Payment and tax records are the exception: Indian tax law requires invoices to be retained, so those survive the deletion of a profile. They contain what was sold and to whom, not your profile contents.

9.Security

Sign-in is by emailed link, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. Photographs and videos are held in private storage and served through short-lived links that expire, never public URLs. Access rules are enforced by the database, and every rule has an automated test that runs against the real system.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the Act requires.

10.Children

This service is for adults of marriageable age. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 18, and we delete any such profile we find.
