Vivaha Dharma
Terms of Use
Last updated 4 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Vivaha Dharma. They are written to be read, not to be got past — please do read them, because by creating a profile you agree to them.
1.Who may join
You must be at least 21 years old if you are a man, and at least 18 if you are a woman, in keeping with the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. You must be legally free to marry under the law that applies to you.
If you are already married, you may not create a profile seeking another partner. If a previous marriage has ended, you may join once it has ended in law — by decree of divorce, annulment, or the death of your spouse. We may ask you to confirm this.
One person, one profile. A profile may be created and managed on someone's behalf by a parent, sibling, relative or counsellor, but it must describe a real person who knows it exists and consents to it.
2.Verification, and what it does and does not mean
Every profile is reviewed by a person before it becomes visible. We look at the evidence offered — a temple counsellor's reference, a member's referral, or a short video introduction — and we approve or decline it.
Verification means we made a reasonable check and were satisfied. It is not a guarantee of anyone's character, intentions, marital status, health, income, or the truth of anything they have written. We are not able to conduct background investigations, and we do not claim to.
You are responsible for satisfying yourself about any devotee you speak to, exactly as your family would in any traditional introduction. Meet in a safe place, involve your family or your temple community, and take your time.
We may decline or withdraw verification at our discretion, and we do not undertake to give reasons in every case.
3.What you tell us must be true
Everything on your profile must be accurate — your name, age, marital status, spiritual practice, education, work, and anything else you choose to share. Misrepresenting any of these is a breach of these terms.
You may keep information private. You may not state it falsely.
4.How you must behave
This is a community for devotees seeking marriage. The following will end your membership without refund:
- Approaching anyone for anything other than marriage
- Harassing, threatening, abusing or persistently contacting someone who has declined
- Asking any devotee for money, or offering financial inducements
- Acting as a broker, agent or marriage bureau, or collecting profiles for one
- Copying, scraping or republishing profiles, photographs or any part of this site
- Impersonating another person, or creating a profile for someone who has not consented
- Posting anything obscene, hateful, or unlawful
If you receive an interest you do not welcome, decline it. A declined devotee cannot write to you again — that is enforced by the platform, not merely by policy.
5.Membership and access
Creating a profile and being verified costs nothing. Membership is what opens the ability to browse other devotees. Its price and duration are shown on the membership page before you pay.
Membership gives access to the platform for its term. It does not promise introductions, responses, matches or a marriage, and it cannot, because those depend on other people.
We may change what membership includes. If a change materially reduces what you have already paid for, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy.
6.Jyotish and counselling services
Ashtakoot Guna Milan on this site is offered free, as a traditional aid to reflection. Paid consultations — match-making, muhurta, and pre- and post-marriage counselling — are booked and paid for separately.
These are traditional and devotional services offered in good faith. They are not medical advice, psychiatric treatment, legal advice or financial advice, and must not be relied upon as any of those. If you need a doctor, a therapist, a lawyer or an accountant, please consult one.
No astrological reading, compatibility score or counselling session is a prediction of what will happen in your life or your marriage.
7.Your content, and our platform
What you write and upload remains yours. By putting it on Vivaha Dharma you allow us to store it, show it to the devotees you have chosen to show it to, and use it to operate the service. That permission ends when you delete the content or your profile, except where we must keep records by law — payment and tax records in particular.
The design, text, artwork, code and arrangement of this site belong to Pranamrta and may not be copied or reused without written permission.
We remove content that breaches these terms, and we may suspend or end a membership for a serious or repeated breach. Where we can, we will tell you why.
8.Closing your account
You may delete your profile at any time from your profile page. Doing so removes it from the community and stops it being shown to anyone.
Deleting a profile does not by itself refund a membership. Refunds are dealt with in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
9.What we are responsible for, and what we are not
We take real care over verification, privacy and the security of your data, and we will keep doing so. But we do not control how devotees behave, and we cannot accept responsibility for the conduct of any member, for anything said between members, or for the outcome of any introduction, meeting or marriage.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with this service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing here affects the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
10.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use Vivaha Dharma after that means you accept the revised terms.
11.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Kolhapur, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Before going to court, please write to our Grievance Officer below. Most problems can be sorted out that way, and more quickly.
